Cooper Academy

Cooper Academy is an enrichment and enhancement program for grades K-5. We serve students of all abilities. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Families have the option of joining either one or two days per week. Mondays focus is on building math skills and exploring various science concepts. Wednesdays are the reading and writing skills day paired with fun arts and crafts. Both days students will enjoy some free time to play, socialize, and explore movement activities. This is a yearlong program beginning in August and ending in May. Learners are welcome to join at any point during the school year. We offer small class sizes and flexibility to meet the needs of all learners.

Our program also offers an OT gym, certified teachers, teaching assistants (as needed). Illinois standards based learning, hands on curriculum and weekly educational materials sent home to expand on our in class learning experiences.

Cooper Academy is housed withing Cooper Therapy Connections PLLC (CTC) and CTC services can be added to the end of the school day for learners who would benefit from speech, occupational therapy, counseling or social skills groups.

Who is this program appropriate for?

This program is for homeschooling families looking for support in the areas of math, reading, writing, science or art. Support comes in many forms including, but not limited to learners who are seeking an environment to learn alongside peers, learners who are struggling in one or more academic areas, learners who need to be more challenged, and learners who have previously struggled in a traditional classroom environment.

This program is not intended to replace your homeschool curriculum, but it is a great addition or enhancement. It also serves as a place for homeschooling support for both learners and their families.

Fees

There is a one-time registration fee of $100 which will be collected at the time of registration. The tuition fee is $100/week (adjusted for weeks with holidays).

Other Services:

1:1 or small group tutoring: this highly individualized instruction will focus on your choice of math, reading or writing skills. Small groups will be formed based on enrollment and will have no more than 4 students per group who are at the same academic level.

Tutoring is available to all students grades K-8.
