Reading
Reading opens he door to a love of learning. Our goal is to help improve your learner’s reading fluency, comprehension, and interest in reading so that they can take their own education to the next level.
Grades K-2: Learners will be taught early reading skills using Orton Gillingham’s Structured Literacy program in addition to being introduced to various high interest and engaging children’s books. Fiction and non-fiction texts will be explored. Additionally, learners will be introduced to early writing skills.
Grades 3 – 5: Learners will be taught an introduction to reading comprehension strategies and elements of literature. These concepts will be explored through a variety of reading experiences and materials.
The goal is to increase reading comprehension and grow a greater love of literature. Both fiction and non-fiction texts will be explored. Writing will be incorporated. Unit studies will be base on high interest novels.
